  4. d) data derived from the collection of “Cookies” as described below.

Therefore, the main legitimate basis for processing your data is your explicit consent, under which the Company processes the data of Website users, for the following explicitly stated reasons:

  • To manage the Website
  • To respond to your requests or complaints and to contact you regarding the Website
  • For statistical purposes in order to analyse how our Website is used and understand how we can improve the Website to provide the best possible information services to the Website users,
  • To maintain the Website’s security and smooth operation
  • To meet any requirements of the law, public authorities and compliance regulations or to establish, exercise or defend any legal claims, if required,

In this case, the Company implements all necessary security measures, so that its partners are specifically authorised for this purpose, are fully bound by confidentiality, discretion and the obligations provided in the legislation about personal data collection and processing and use only the strictly necessary data (minimisation) for the implementation of the processing purpose.

In addition, your data may be transferred to public authorities and other third parties, when required by the applicable law, such as in the case of compliance with court decisions.

Finally, it is possible, in the context of automated personal data recording, that such data (i.e. automatically recorded) may be obtained from advertising companies or advertisers. You can disable this feature in your browser.

The personal data processed by the Company is held legally throughout the period necessary for the fulfilment of the processing purpose. • Right of opposition: you may object to the processing of your personal data, including any profiling,
  • Right to withdraw consent: you can withdraw your consent to the processing of your data at any time (for data collected and processed on the basis of consent). The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
  • Right of termination: if you believe that your rights regarding the processing of your personal data are affected, you can file a complaint to the competent supervisory authority, namely the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (1-3 Kifisias Avenue, Athens, P.C. 115 23, +30 210 6475600, contact@dpa.gr ).

If you exercise any of the above rights, the Company shall take every possible measure to satisfy your request within thirty (30) days from its receipt, in which case you will be informed of its progress. Note that this deadline may be extended by an additional two (2) months, taking into consideration the complexity of your request, and the number of requests in general. These rights shall be exercised at no cost to you, unless requests are repeated frequently and due to volume bear administrative costs for us, in which case we may charge a reasonable fee.

Furthermore, the Company will inform you as soon as possible of any violation of your personal data, in case such violation may pose a high risk to your rights and freedoms and provided that it does not fall under one of the exceptions expressly provided by law.

  1. COOKIE POLICY

The Company may collect Website user identification data, using corresponding technologies, such as cookies and/or Internet Protocol (IP) address tracking.

(i) A “cookie” is a small text file, which contains an identification code (a sequence of numbers and letters) and which has been sent from a server to a browser, where it is stored. Each time the browser requests a web page from the server, the identification code is sent back to the server. Cookies are stored by your browser on your computer, tablet, mobile phone or any other device you use to browse the Website.

Cookies are stored on the user’s hard drive, but cannot read any documents or data off the user’s computer, as they are used exclusively to facilitate User access when it comes to the use of specific services and/or pages of the Website, for statistical purposes, to display advertisements, analyse and extract relevant statistics, for the purpose of ensuring high performance during the website operation (e.g. its proper, continuous and uninterrupted operation). Cookies can be either persistent or related to a single session (login). Persistent cookies are stored by the browser and remain valid either until their expiry date or until they are deleted by the user. Single session cookies expire at the end of the connection, once you close the browser.

The following types of cookies are used on the Website:

  • session cookies which are temporary cookies that remain in the cookie file of the browser for as long as the user is connected to the Website and
  • persistent cookies – these remain in the browser’s cookies file for a longer period of time (depending on each cookie’s lifespan).

Session cookies are used to improve the user’s navigation of the Website and to collect aggregated statistical information. This aggregated statistical information is used by the Company for internal use only and will not be passed on to third parties. Persistent cookies are used on the Website to store information on the user’s computer for various purposes, for example, to retrieve specific information that the user has previously provided (e.g., password details), to determine the sections of the Website that users find most interesting and to configure the Website according to the user’s preferences. This information may also include the user’s browser type, computer type, operating system, internet services provider and other similar information. In addition, the Website’s information system automatically collects information about any sites visited by the user and about any links to third party websites that the user may follow while using the Website. Website users may set their browser to either alert them on the use of cookies on specific services or to block the use of cookies. When the user of any specific services and pages does not wish to allow cookies for identification, they can have no further access to said services.

(ii) As to the tracking of Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, every time the User connects to the internet, they are assigned one IP address. Through the IP address, the User’s computer can send and receive data. Generally, every time the User connects to the Internet, the User’s IP address changes. However, under certain conditions (e.g. with certain broadband connections) the User’s IP address becomes static. A static IP address may be associated with a specific User’s computer and may therefore lead to the User’s personal information (web log information is non-personal information collected from the computer hosting the website every time a User visits it). The Company, or any authorised representatives, shall use the User’s IP address or web log information solely to collect and report aggregated information on how the Website is used, in which sections there is more traffic (popularity index) and in general how the Website can be improved in order to offer the best possible experience to the User.

5.1. CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY AND COOKIE POLICY

We may modify the information contained in this Privacy and Cookie Policy as we deem necessary. In the event that we do so, we will notify you in various ways through the Platform (for example, through a banner, a pop-up window or a push notification) when such changes are significant to your privacy, so that you can review and evaluate the changes, and, if needed, object or opt out of a service or function. In any case, we recommend that you check this Privacy and Cookies Policy from time to time, in case we make small changes or introduce a drastic improvement, taking advantage of the fact that you can always access it as a permanent information point on the Website.

  1. ADVERTISING ON THE WEBSITE

This Website may contain third-party advertisements as well as display other material with promotional content, purposes and nature.

In the case of third-party advertisements, the Company does not have any control on the content, correctness, appropriateness, accuracy etc. of such advertisements and, therefore, is not liable to users for the content of such advertisements with respect to any illegal acts or omissions, inaccuracies or failure to comply with laws and regulations of any country or the European Union in relation to the content of such advertisements. This responsibility lies solely and exclusively with the advertisers, sponsors and/or creators of the promotional material. These links on our website are not an indication of approval or acceptance of the content of the respective websites and we are in no way responsible for their content and any damage resulting from their use, as visitors access these at own risk.

  1. REVISION – AMENDMENT OF THE TERMS OF USE – TERMS OF PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION – COOKIE POLICY

This Policy and the Terms of Use, Personal Data Protection Terms and Cookie Policy enclosed may be amended as the Company deems necessary, which means users (data subjects) should visit the website regularly to check for any changes and new/additional information, as the Company has no obligation to inform each User individually about such changes and their rights.
